Fire death dad Mick Philpott wants a reunion behind bars with his ex-wife and fellow child killer Mairead.
The 65-year-old has told pals he wants Mairead, 39, to visit him in HMP Wakefield, where he is serving a life term.
His ex, who divorced him in 2014, has been living in a bail hostel since being freed from HMP Send in Surrey last month.
She served half of a 17-year jail term for killing six of her children in an arson attack in Derby in May 2012.
Mick told a pal during a recent prison phone call of his hopes to be reunited.
The friend said: “Mick’s desperate to see her. He’s never really accepted they are separated.
“He wants her to come to visit him in prison and is talking about filling in the paperwork.
“He asked me to contact her family to find out how to get in touch with her but I don’t want anything to do with it.
“Anyway, he’s deluded if he thinks the authorities would allow it.
“They won’t let them be together.”
Mairead is subject to strict bail conditions, which are understood to include not being allowed to contact her ex-husband or visit Derby.
Her husband was jailed for life in 2013 for starting the blaze at the family home in the Allenton area of the city.
He was told he must serve at least 15 years behind bars before being considered for parole.
The couple were convicted of six counts of manslaughter along with a third defendant.
Jade Philpott, 10, and her brothers Duwayne, 13, John, nine, Jack, eight, Jesse, six, and Jayden, five, all died in the fire.
